Car Carrier

To ensure the swift, safe and rapid moving of the car, relocation companies offer “Car Carrier” services to individuals as well as corporate customers. One of the most prized possession, an automobile is amongst the most important belongings. So, its transfer from one place to another in an effective manner is very important.

The customers are offered door to door car carrier service wherein the vehicle is picked up by the professionals in this field from the door step and delivered right at the informed destination, at the exact address. Also, vital issues like insurance, custom clearance etc, are all handled by the moving and packing agency itself. With the help of car trailers, cars can be transported all over  providing door to door services to most customers.

The cars are transported by special vehicles… covered, uncovered trailers, containerized etc. that are specially designed for the safe carriage of vehicles.

With the help of professional loading crews and the most modern technology, the transit is safe. In addition, the monitoring and tracing systems are also offered to the customers by most companies. This further ensures reliable, on-time delivery and cross-continental vehicle transportation.

Most auto transporter companies require some preparation to be made in advance to the vehicle being picked up for shipping.

A list of some of the pre-move activities:

  • Inspection of the vehicle is done by the company’s expert in the presence of a customer / his representative.
  • The vehicle needs to be operable (though some companies will move in-operable vehicles for an extra charge).
  • The vehicle should be free from any fluid leaks.
  • All personal belongings need to be removed from the vehicle prior to shipping. It is against the law for any vehicle carrier to accept a vehicle with personal items inside.
  • Hazardous materials cannot be transported in this manner.
  • Roof racks or other non-permanent items must also be removed.
  • The alarm system in vehicle must be disabled or disconnected.
  • All antennas must be removed or fully retracted.

Do your homework, plan in advance, ask family, friends, neighbors, co-workers etc. for referrals.  Do not rely solely on over the phone interviews or on-line searches/quotes… Once you have narrowed your companies considerations down to 3 or 5 be sure to investigate them before  inviting them to provide a bid.  Get everything in writing and remember….if it is too good to be true walk away!
